This new 2 story home is situated on a challenging and long neglected vacant downslope lot in the eclectic Trestle Glen Neighborhood of Oakland. Despite its very steep slope, a direct connection to the rear yard and grade was achieved by placing the living spaces below the entry level, which created unique opportunities for uninterrupted open spaces, light filled spaces, and indoor-outdoor living. A modern industrial palette, with a hint of midcentury, is employed throughout, and features exposed concrete white oak flooring, soft white painted walls, basalt and calcatta stone, and walnut and black matte glass cabinetry.
